The UZI submachine gun is a family of compact, lightweight, and widely-used firearms that originated in Israel. The original UZI was developed by Major Uziel Gal in the late 1940s and entered service with the Israeli military in the early 1950s. The UZI SMG is a blowback-operated, select-fire weapon that fires from an open bolt. The UZI has a distinctive shape, with a boxlike receiver and a folding metal buttstock. It is often seen in action movies and TV shows, and has become a symbol of Israeli military prowess. The UZI has been used by a wide range of military and law enforcement organizations around the world, and has also become popular with civilians as a sporting and self-defense weapon. Despite its age, the UZI remains a highly-regarded and extensively used firearm, and is still produced today by several manufacturers.
The UZI "Sting" laser tag game kit from the "PRACTICAL" series has gained widespread popularity among laser tag operators and enthusiasts alike for its convenient close-range capabilities. This laser tag submachine gun is based on the Gletcher UZM gas-powered air pistol as its base. The decision to use this particular air pistol as the foundation for the UZI SMG was based on its exceptional manufacturing quality, remarkable durability, and authentic design, closely resembling the original firearm. The UZI laser tag body is made of stamped steel, while the grip and buttstock are crafted from a robust and tactile ABS plastic material.
Players will duly appreciate the UZI's satisfying weight and feel, which sets it apart from taggers made from aluminum airsoft guns. The charging port (Li+ or Spider) is discreetly located and does not detract from the tagger's authenticity. The power source is a Li+ 2.2 Ah battery, which can provide up to 36 hours of gameplay, depending on the intensity of the game and energy-consuming options, such as transmitting statistics to a controlling PC via Wi-Fi.
The UZI SMG is be activated with the fire mode selector switch, conveniently located on the pistol grip just below the index finger. Reloading the tagger is done by pulling the charging handle toward the player. The folding buttstock allows the weapon's length to be adjusted from 19.1 inches to 28.3 inches (48.5 cm to 72 cm). The weight of the tagger is 4.1 pounds (1.86 kg).
The UZI comes equipped with its own built-in sights, and the optimal shooting range is 500 feet (150 meters) with a Prism optics and up to 1,000 feet (300 meters) with a Parallax version.
