The doomsday box is one of the most atmospheric developments of our company. This device will be simply indispensable when running post-apocalyptic scenarios, playing out spy conspiracies, counter-terrorist operations, saving the planet from a supervillain, games based on Fallout, Wasteland, Mutant Year Zero, Arcane series, or based on movies and TV shows about a zombie apocalypse like World war Z or The Walking Dead.
The device is a flask with a secret biological component or a dangerous radioactive substance, located in a closed safe box.
Typically, the scenario assumes that the player or team needs to break through hordes of enemies, monsters or zombies, find a hidden vault, open it, extract a hazardous flask and deliver it to a certain safe place (a bunker full of scientists inventing a zombie vaccine, military base, storage of nuclear waste, the location of the Activator, to the starship engine, etc.)
The flask can be used separately in the scenario, for example, as a power source for a reactor. Everything here is limited only by the imagination of the game master.
However, opening the safe is not an easy task, and in order to get the flask, the player must first guess the code, which the player has to do gradually, digit by digit, fighting off other teams all this time, or defending themselves from incoming zombies or monsters.
To guess the numeric code, a live player needs to shoot at a special indicator located on the front panel of the doomsday box, after which the device will start guessing the first digit; it takes a certain time from 1 to 9 minutes to detect each number, which is set in the settings by the game operator. After the end of the guessing of the first digit, it is displayed on the display, and to start the guessing of the next digit, the player needs to shoot the device again. After the end of the guessing, the player must enter all the digits indicated on the display using the device's keyboard. In this case, the lock of the safe will open and the player can get the flask.
Thus, depending on the settings, the players of the team need to defend the location of the safe for at least 6 minutes, and if they fail and the player of the other team shoots into the doomsday box, then the guessing will have to be started again.
But even if everything has worked out, the storage is opened and the flask is pulled out of the box, then another misfortune begins. The flask turns out to be radioactive, and every minute emits a radioactive impulse, which takes away 10 health points from nearby players. At the same time, it produces a sound of Geiger counter detecting radiation.
Therefore, a player with 100 health points who tries to carry the flask for more than 10 minutes will inevitably die. Moreover, if the player gets wounded during the decryption of the lock of the safe or the transfer of the flask, then this will naturally happen even faster.
Several “Doomsday boxes” can be combined into Pandora’s box game set. This set can also be used in laser tag Fallout games.
