The PPSh-41  ("Shpagin machine pistol") is a submachine gun that was developed in the Soviet Union during World War II and it was also supplied to various other countries as part of Soviet aid packages. Common nicknames are "pe-pe-sha" from its three-letter prefix and "PaPaSha", meaning "old man". It is a selective-fire weapon that is widely regarded as one of the most iconic submachine guns of the war. The PPSh-41 was designed to be a cheap, simple, and reliable weapon that could be mass-produced quickly and easily. It features a drum magazine that holds 71 rounds, which gave it a high rate of fire and made it a formidable weapon in close-quarters combat. After the war, the PPSh-41 remained in service with various countries around the world, and it was also widely exported. Despite its age, it remains a popular firearm among collectors and enthusiasts today, thanks in part to its historical significance and distinctive appearance.

The Laser Tag PPSh-41 is constructed from a deactivated combat weapon (dummy gun) and has a number of significant differences from Laserwar's regular taggers.

  • Notably, it features a distinct optical system with a short-focus lens that enables shooting ranges of up to 500 feet (roughly 150 meters), a rarity for our laser tag guns.
  • WW2 historical lasertag gun PPSHThe reloading mechanism has undergone a radical overhaul, requiring the magazine to be removed and reinserted with a latch, resulting in the relocation of all electronics from the original drum magazine to the body.
