Our company offers customers a selection of three game kits - "PPSh", "Schmeisser", and "Thompson" - which are laser tag weapons and replicas of World War II era firearms. These kits have a unique appeal and generate significant interest among operators and clubs who are involved in historical reenactments.
The Thompson submachine gun, also known as the as the "Tommy Gun", "Chicago Typewriter", "The Chopper", and simply "The Thompson" , is a firearm that was invented by John T. Thompson in 1918, during World War I, but it wasn't until the 1920s that it gained widespread popularity. It is a fully automatic submachine gun that fires .45 ACP rounds and was used primarily by law enforcement agencies and military units during the first half of the 20th century. This firearm became a favorite of gangsters during the Prohibition era in the United States, earning it a reputation as the weapon of choice for organized crime. It was also used by law enforcement agencies during this time, including the FBI. It was designed for close-quarters combat, making it ideal for urban warfare and other situations where a high rate of fire is required. Today, it remains a popular firearm among collectors and enthusiasts, and it is still used by some law enforcement agencies today.
It has also been featured in many iconic movies over the years such as The Godfather (it was used by Michael Corleone), in Scarface (Tony Montana famously wields a gold-plated Tommy gun during the climactic shootout). It was also featured in The Untouchables, Saving Private Ryan and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Our laser tag set "Tommy Gun" is a replica of a firearm version also known informally as the Thompson M1A1 submachine gun, which was released in the 1943 year as a cheap version of the M1928 model.
The «Thompson M1A1» game set is based on a full-size replica of a dummy gun.
The tagger's body is made of metal, while the front and pistol grips, as well as the buttstock, are made of wood. The buttstock has a comfortable and stable design, with a slight downward angle. The electronics are integrated in a drum magazine, which replaces the traditional box-type magazine.
Thanks to the high metal content, the tagger weighs in at 10.1 pounds (4.6 kg) and measures 39.4 inches (100 cm) in length.
The "Thompson" tagger is not only reliable, but also an attractive replica of the iconic Tommy gun. The distinctive magazine, pistol grip, and unique forend make it instantly recognizable.
The tagger comes with standard sights and we do not recommend installing a collimator sight as it will look out of place. Ideal for historical reenactments, scenario-based games, escape rooms, and rentals, the "Thompson" is compatible with all generations of laser tag electronics and optics. Additionally, recoil simulation technology can be added, but there is no option for an OLED display. The charging port and power switch are located on the magazine. To reload the Tommy, simply pull back the charging handle.
Inside the tagger is a 2.2 Ah lithium-ion battery that provides up to 36 hours of operation. The battery can be charged using any Li+ or Spider series lithium charger. Depending on the optical system selected, the optimal range of fire can be up to 1,300 feet (400 meters).
