The RPK74-S is a modified version of the RPK-74, which is a modernized version of the RPK (Kalashnikov light machine gun) machine gun which was developed in the Soviet Union. It was developed in the 1990s and is still in use today by some Russian military and law enforcement units. The "S" in the name stands for "folding" in Russian. One of the major changes in the RPK74-S is the use of a polymer stock and handguard, which helps to reduce the weight of the weapon. It also has a more robust receiver and an improved trigger mechanism. The barrel is also slightly shorter than that of the RPK-74, making it more maneuverable in close quarters combat. Additionally, the RPK74-S features a side-folding metal stock for easier to transport and storage.
The RPK74-S is typically fed from a 45-round magazine, although it can also use the larger 75-round drum magazines. Overall, the RPK74-S is a reliable and effective light machine gun that is well-suited for both infantry and special forces operations. Its combination of accuracy, firepower, and maneuverability makes it a popular choice among Russian military and law enforcement personnel.
The RPK-S Laser Tag Machine Gun, named "ARMADA," is an exceptional option for both laser tag operators and individual players. It is made by integrating laser tag electronics into the deactivated RPK-74C machine gun produced by the Izhevsk Machine Building Plant, ensuring its body is made of robust gun steel with some parts made of polyamide for reliability and durability, making it suitable for rental and personal use. Compared to airsoft rifles, this machine gun's weight is heavy, at 12.3 lbs (5.6 kg), but manageable.
The tagger has a folding steel bipod and an easy-to-carry stock with a length of 37.4 inches (95 cm) when the buttstock is folded and 48.4 inches (123 cm) when it is extended. Additionally, there is a "dovetail" type mount on the receiver for mounting a telescopic or red-dot sights.
An OLED display option can be added to the machine gun, but this requires the buttstock to be fixed in the extended position. Unlike other taggers, this machine gun has a drum magazine that holds 75 rounds. It is reloaded by pulling the charging handle, adding to the realism and authenticity of the gameplay.
The machine gun is activated by pressing a button located on the drum magazine. The drum magazine also houses a powerful acoustic speaker that makes the sound like of a real RPK. Just like a real weapon, a safety lock secures the trigger and charging handle to prevent accidental firing.
The choice of platform and optical system can be made when ordering this tagger, with any generation of electronics and branded optics such as "Prisma" or "Parallax" available. These laser tag optic systems have a range of up to 820 and 1,300 feet (250 and 400 meters), respectively. The machine gun's Li+ batteries provide up to 36 hours of tagger operation without the need for recharging.
